Peter S. Beagle is the legendary visionary behind The Last Unicorn, a masterpiece that has defined high fantasy for over fifty years. A recipient of the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement, Peter’s lyrical storytelling and Hugo-winning prose — including Two Hearts and A Fine and Private Place — have made him a titan of the genre. His presence at Rewind brings the pinnacle of whimsical heritage to our lineup, celebrating the stories that taught us to believe in the extraordinary.

Gail Carson Levine is the “Fairy Godmother” of reimagined folklore, best known for her 1997 Newbery Honor-winning masterpiece, Ella Enchanted. After publishing her debut at age fifty, she spent decades defining the childhoods of the Rewind generation with beloved titles like The Two Princesses of Bamarre, Fairest, and the Disney Fairies series. From her farmhouse in the Hudson River Valley, Gail continues to champion the magic of storytelling through her recent work, The Unusuals, and her iconic writing guides for aspiring authors.

Bruce Coville is the prolific mastermind behind childhood staples like My Teacher Is an Alien and the Unicorn Chronicles, having published over 100 books that blend whimsey with the wonderfully weird. A master of middle-grade storytelling, his work has spent decades sparking the imaginations of young readers and teaching them that being “different” is a superpower. We are honored to welcome this legendary creator to the Rewind stage to celebrate the stories that turned us all into lifelong fans of the fantastical.

Aaron Reynolds is the five-time Webby Award-winning author of Effin’ Birds, a comic strippairing intricate artwork with mundane daily frustrations read by over a million people everyday. His first book, Effin’ Birds: A Field Guide To Identification, hit bookstores in 2019 and for seven whole days was the bestselling book by any Canadian author not named Margaret Atwood. Prior to writing Effin’ Birds as his full-time gig, Aaron was the creative director for apodcast network, a software trainer for Apple, and a Santa Claus photographer at the worstmall in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Ellen Hopkins is a poet, former freelance journalist, and the award-winning author of twenty non-fiction books for children, fifteen NY Times bestselling young adult novels, two middle grade novels, and four novels for adult readers.
